About Digitex Consulting Group

25+ years of enterprise IT expertise. Built from the ground up. Still hands-on.

Our Story

Digitex Consulting Group was founded in 2000 in Fairfield, New Jersey by Michael Murren — a seasoned network infrastructure engineer who spent the late 1990s designing and managing enterprise networks for high-growth .com companies. That era demanded precision: every rack had to be right, every cable run had to be clean, every datacenter had to be bulletproof. That discipline became the DNA of Digitex.

From day one, structured cabling and datacenter design were core competencies — not add-on services. Michael built Digitex on the principle that a technology environment is only as strong as the physical infrastructure beneath it. Properly engineered cabling and thoughtfully designed datacenter environments eliminate the hidden problems that haunt organizations for years: intermittent failures, scalability bottlenecks, and the costly remediation work that comes from cutting corners during the build phase.

Digitex launched as a carrier-class wireless ISP, building the kind of wireless internet infrastructure — towers, backhaul links, distribution networks — that demands the same rigor as any enterprise datacenter. Serving over 100 clients across the Fairfield, NJ area gave the company deep operational experience managing complex, always-on infrastructure from the ground up.

In 2002, Michael was engaged by Cittone Institute to teach on behalf of Microsoft for two years, contributing to the development of the Microsoft 2003 Active Directory certification program — a role that put him at the forefront of enterprise identity and directory infrastructure at the moment it was becoming the backbone of every serious IT environment.

By 2008, Digitex made a decisive pivot from wireless ISP operations into full-service managed IT — bringing its infrastructure engineering heritage directly into the managed services space. That foundation matters: when Digitex designs a network, the structured cabling and datacenter layer is engineered with the same precision as the logical architecture above it. The result is an environment built to perform, built to scale, and built to last.

In 2024, the company rebranded as Digitex Consulting Group — reflecting its evolved identity and renewed strategic focus. Today, Digitex operates across two core pillars: CompleteCare, its flagship all-inclusive managed IT services program for businesses and government agencies that demand predictable costs and zero surprises; and AI Services, a forward-looking practice helping organizations design, deploy, and operate AI-driven infrastructure and intelligent automation systems.

With over 25 years in business, 45+ active managed services clients, and leadership that brings more than 30 years of high-level network infrastructure experience to every engagement, Digitex Consulting Group remains what it has always been — a company that shows up, gets it done, and stands behind its work.

Infrastructure Is Our Foundation

Before a single line of software is configured, before a single policy is written — the physical layer has to be right. Digitex has been designing and building structured cabling and datacenter environments since 2000, and it remains one of our most differentiating capabilities.

🔌 Structured Cabling Design

TIA/EIA-compliant Cat6A and fiber optic infrastructure engineered for performance and scalability. Rack layouts, patch panel design, cable management, and full as-built documentation delivered on every project. We design cabling systems that technicians can work in five years from now.

🏢 Datacenter Design & Build

From single-room server closets to full multi-rack datacenter environments — Digitex designs, builds, and manages datacenter infrastructure using HPE, Dell-EMC, and IBM platforms. Power redundancy, cooling, physical security, structured cabling, and virtualization architecture addressed as a unified system, not a collection of parts.

Leadership

Michael Murren — President & Owner

Michael Murren’s career in technology began in the late 1990s as a network infrastructure engineer for .com companies — designing, building, and managing enterprise networks when the stakes were high and the pace was relentless. Structured cabling and datacenter design were core disciplines from the start — he understands these environments from the physical layer up, which is why Digitex’s infrastructure work carries a level of precision most IT firms can’t match.

In 2002–2004, Michael was engaged by Cittone Institute to teach on behalf of Microsoft, helping build the Microsoft 2003 Active Directory certification curriculum. He founded Digitex in 2000, scaled it through a wireless ISP phase, pivoted it into managed services in 2008, and rebranded it as Digitex Consulting Group in 2024 with a sharpened focus on CompleteCare and AI-driven services. He remains personally involved in every major client engagement.
